Cleaning Fixed Orthodontic Appliances

Wearing a fixed orthodontic appliance (train track braces) makes it very difficult to effectively clean above and below the wire.

• Targeting the area: Use this brush to clean around where the gum and tooth meet above the wire and below the wire to clean the remaining tooth surface and brace.
• Brush dry first: Use brush dry and brush above the wire then go around below the wire. Take time to clean each tooth surface.
• Fluoride application: Then repeat with a pea sized blob of fluoride toothpaste.
• The final step: Spit out after brushing – don’t rinse to get the maximum benefit from the fluoride toothpaste.
