Parents often tell us how hard it is to get children to get them brush their teeth. Small children don’t have the manual dexterity to brush all surfaces of every tooth so parents really need to brush until your child is around 8 or 9 years old.) This brush is great to let little hands brush then parents can complete comprehensive toothbrushing with the kids sonic toothbrush.
The flashing lights and 2 minute light timer on this toothbrush really help distract and ensure the job gets done thoroughly. The sonic movement cleans gently around the gum line with the sonic power movement reaching all the crinkly bits of tiny teeth! This kids sonic toothbrush really helps parents in ensuring a great brushing experience for their child.
Hold the toothbrush on the tooth surface and let the sonic power move the bristles to do the cleaning. Use fluoride toothpaste – over 3 years a pea sized blob with at least 1000ppm fluoride. If your child is higher risk of tooth decay developing opt for a toothpaste with at least 1350ppm fluoride.
What Increases your Child’s Risk of Decay?
- Frequent snacking/dinking sugar containing food/drinks.
- Sugar containing medicine taken regularly or long term. Ask your Dr for a sugar free version.
What you can do to Reduce your Child’s Risk of Cavities?
- Brush teeth last thing at night and one other time every day with a fluoride toothpaste. Spit out after brushing but don’t rinse all the paste away – let the fluoride work for longer to strengthen teeth.
- Keep sugar containing food and drinks to mealtimes only, and avoid these before bedtime.
- Water and plain milk are the only ‘safe’ drinks for teeth.

Growing smiles has been a massive help, Leigh’s knowledge and friendly nature has helped settled a very worried mother about her daughters teeth and has helped me put a plan in action to prevent any further damage. I couldn’t recommend her service enough!! 😁
