Replace toothbrush head when bristles start to splay out. They no longer will brush effectively – usually around every three months.
Regular replacement of toothbrush heads ensures the effectiveness of brushing using a powered toothbrush. Evidence supports the effectiveness of using a powered toothbrush to remove plaque biofilm from teeth and gums.
Brush teeth twice every day, last thing at night before bedtime and one other time every day. Use brush dry unless otherwise advised by a dental professional or oral health coach. Use a pea sized blob of fluoride toothpaste. Spread the toothpaste around teeth then place toothbrush bristles at gum line and switch on. Let the power do the work. Move from one tooth to the next brushing each surface of every tooth – outside, inside and biting surfaces. Use the timer on the toothbrush to ensure you are spending enough time brushing all quadrants of the mouth – top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left.
Spit out excess toothpaste after brushing – but don’t rinse out with mouthwash or water. Let the remaining toothpaste stay around the teeth, especially at night when the active ingredients in the toothpaste e.g. fluoride, can work to strengthen teeth as long as possible.
After brushing with Whitewash SW2000 replacement heads rinse toothpaste from brush with running water, shake to remove excess water and nip the bristles to reshape and make the brush last longer. Store upright out of contact with anyone elses toothbrush.
