Baby’s first toothbrush and teether set from Brush Baby is a great start for growing smiles. Suitable from birth to around 18 months.
This toothbrush is the perfect size for cleaning tiny teeth in a small mouth. It has a tiny head with soft bristles and a handle fit for adult hands to brush. Use with a smear of fluoride toothpaste (at least 1000ppm fluoride). Use toothbrush brush dry and clean all surfaces of the teeth.
Start to brush as soon as the first tooth appears in the mouth. This gets baby used to having their teeth brushed and helps to get fluoride around the teeth, making them stronger and more resistant to sugar attack. You will need to help brush your child’s teeth until they are about 8 years old.
All children should have their first dental check up by their first birthday. Find out more about the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry’s Dental Check by One campaign here
The first baby tooth erupts around 6 months of age, in the lower jaw at front of the mouth. The other baby teeth will gradually appear over the next 24 to 36 months until all 20 baby teeth have erupted. The baby molars will not be replaced by their permanent successors (the premolars) until 11 or 12 years of age, so it is important to look after them.

Rachel –
I was given this as a gift for my new baby. The teether is a winner and has been since he started teething. We’ve tried various teethers but this one always seems to be the one we go back to. The handle is great as he can hold
it himself – he also chews on that bit too!
