Found naturally in most fruits & vegetables, Xylitol is a natural sweetener recognized for eliminating the bacteria that cause tooth decay while maintaining the positive bacteria for a healthy oral microbiome
Peppermint oil
Peppermint oil tackles bad breath and keeps your mouth feeling minty and fresh throughout the day.
Recommended use – Scientific research shows that the benefits of taking Xylitol are strongest when spread out throughout the day. Dr Heff’s recommend roughly 5 a day so you can enjoy Dr. Heff’s dental supplements after breakfast, coffee and lunch – even before brushing your teeth!
Can be used by children from the age of 3 onwards (due to small size and choking hazard).
Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.
Store in a cool dry place out of reach of small children and pets (Xylitol is not good for dogs!) Dr Heffs say “There are some human foods that vets recommend we don’t give to dogs, including chocolate, onions and avocados. In a similar way, Xylitol has many benefits for humans but is harmful to dogs – so please keep Dr. Heff’s Remarkables away from pets“.

How they work Tooth decay is caused by the acid-producing bacteria found in plaque, which is a sticky biofilm that forms on tooth surfaces. When sugar enters the mouth the acid breaks down the building blocks of the tooth: calcium and phosphate. This is called demineralisation. In the early stages of this demineralising tooth decay process the calcium and phosphate ‘building blocks’ of the tooth surface can be restored, repairing the damage. This is called remineralisation. Remineralisation means that, in its early stages, the process of tooth decay is reversible.
Dr Heff’s Remarkable Mints have been successfully tested in scientific studies at the Dental School of the University of Illinois, the University of Zurich and the University of Birmingham to prove they are truly effective in combating tooth decay. These mints reduce the acidity levels in your mouth more quickly by increasing saliva flow and creating a healthy environment to harden (remineralise) tooth surfaces.
The of calcium phosphate in these mints helps to provide the calcium and phosphate ‘building blocks’ that repair your teeth during remineralisation.
The green tea extract helps preserve the collagen structure of your tooth, strengthening the ‘scaffolding’ that provides the structure for remineralisation to take place.
This three stage protection and repair process led to researchers at the University of Illinois to conclude that Dr. Heff’s Remarkable Mints created a significant reduction in the decay of the tooth samples they tested.
Endorsed by Toothfriendly International, Dr. Heff’s Remarkable Mints invented and developed by Dr Mike Heffernan and Dr Toby Edwards-Lunn, two practising dentists from the south of England who graduated from Guy’s Hospital in London.

Have only been using for short while but these mints leave a lovely refreshing minty after-taste. No bad breath.
Will write more after longer test to gauge effect on plaque. Recommended.
