Dr Johns Cinnamon Hard Candy uses pure Saigon Cinnamonwhich gives you the pure taste of cinnamon without all of the artificial ingredients. They are naturally sweetened with Xylitol & Erythritol, which help fight tooth decay, dry mouth and promote oral health. Sugar free, gluten free, kosher, and safe for diabetics under the guidance of a doctor. Made for you by Dr. John’s® Candies in a peanut/tree nut free facility. Kosher (Pareve). Please note that due to the use of the natural cinnamon powder, these candies tend to have a slightly brown tint and the texture of the cinnamon.
Sugar free with xylitol & erythritol – good for dental health. Xylitol inhibits the growth of the bacteria that cause tooth decay. Over time with xylitol use, the quality of the bacteria in the mouth changes and fewer and fewer decay-causing bacteria survive on tooth surfaces. Less plaque biofilm forms and the level of acids attacking the tooth surface is lowered.
Xylitol has also been linked to clearing nasal passages, wound healing, upper respiratory health and calcium absorption.
Erythritol, like xylitol is a sugar alcohol that is made by fermenting sugar to remove the calories. It is low carb, does not affect your blood sugar and does not cause tooth decay.
Sugar alcohols don’t actually contain sugar (sucrose) or alcohol (ethanol). Sugar alcohols are reduced-calorie sweeteners found in everything from chewing gum to flavored water. Erythritol is almost as sweet as sugar and has practically no calories.
Erythritol is found naturally in some fruits, such as melons, grapes, and pears. It’s also found in some fermented foods. When erythritol is used in sugar-free foods and beverages, it’s most likely made from fermented corn.

I appreciate that not all Growing Smiles customers suffer from a sensitive mouth but for those who do, please be warned that these sweets are VERY spicy. I use cinnamon in cooking quite a bit, but the sweets left me running across the kitchen to spit it into the compost bin, reaching for the cold milk and Bongela! I’d just started to get some relief from sensitivity by using other products on the Growing Smiles website (excellent selection of gels and chewing gums etc.) but one taste of the cinnamon sweets has set me back considerably.
