A bamboo toothbrush is a great alternative to plastic or nylon toothbrushes – most of which end up in landfill. Terracycle have recently set up recycling of toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes in the UK and Growing Smiles is registered for recycling with them.

The bamboo used in these brushes is sustainably grown, organic, BPA-free, naturally anti-microbial, durable and biodegradable. WooBamboo use high quality Dupont Tynex bristles and natural, biodegradable bamboo packaging which can be recycled.

The bamboo handle has a wavy grip which is comfortable in the curve of your palm and offers a natural place for your thumb.

The bamboo used in the toothbrush is safely and conscientiously harvested from the bamboo-rich mountain regions of China, carefully monitored and quality-checked. The bristles are not biodegradeable – they are made from Dupont Tynex nylon – one of the industry’s highest quality bristle materials. EcoLife Innovations have done an incredible amount of testing, and have found that claimed “biodegradable bristles” either AREN’T, or if they are they actually start to decompose in your mouth with just a week or two of use. Another alternative would be to use boar hair. Instead, they decided to get the BEST POSSIBLE BRISTLE for your mouth, and the BEST POSSIBLE HANDLE for the Earth. These brushes are Dentist Approved, Mother Nature Recommended. 🙂

Caring for your Woobamboo brush – Since your Woo Bamboo toothbrush is not made of plastic, like other brushes, there are a few simple things to keep in mind. Any long-term wetness will definitely shorten the life of your brush, so please don’t let your toothbrush sit in water. When you’re finished brushing, shake it dry and place it upright in a holder or a cup (good advice for ANY toothbrush, actually!). Also, due to the nature of the brush, literally, you MAY witness the occasional bristle liberating itself from the handle. That’s because Woobamboo don’t use glue. Pressure secures the bristles into the brush.

Panda friendly – Panda’s don’t eat moso bamboo – and that’s what is used for these bamboo toothbrushes.
